Even after making the change on mine, the system defaulted back to OSX Drivers and I had to tell it to use the webdriver again from system prefs, restarted and it worked. Fingers crossed. Or that nvidia pops out some updated drivers soon. Also weird they did not release any throughout 10.12.6 beta.
As the title states, security update for Sierra 10.12.6 (16G1918) will break Nvidia web driver and acceleration. At the moment, there is not an updated driver that is compatible with this update. The nvidia updater polls an XML file that lists all of the existing versions of the web driver. You can read that file too. The first entry in the file is usually the latest driver, so if the first entry has an OS value higher than your OS build, then you know there's a new driver. Jun 10, 2018 · Ive been able to install the Nvidia web driver on Mojave, and it gets detected by the system, and the kexts are loaded I did it using webdriver.sh and modifying the build version in this line by the latest supported build version (17F77). However, this doesnt seem to work, as all the graphics are I cannot get the latest NVIDIA web driver to load on my Mac Pro 5,1 (OS 10.12.6, mid-2012, 3.46Ghz, 48GB, EVGA NVIDIA GTX 970sc 4GB). The driver is loaded along with the Cuda driver but I cannot get the web driver to work. It used to work under OS 10.10.x but doesn't seem to want to work since I updated to Sierra.
